A citation, also known as a ticket, is a document that state that an individual has been made aware of a traffic violation by an officer.
Upon recieving a citation/ticket, you must learn to respond correctly. Failure to do so could result in many things, such as
- Added fines
- Criminal charges
-Unnecessary increases to insurance premiums
<div class=headingone>Types of Citations</div>
There are three types of citations:
-Penalty vs. Warning
-Moving vs. Non-moving
-Criminal vs. Non-criminal
<div class=subtitle> Penalty Vs. Warning </div>
Some jurisdictions require that officers penalize the offender for certain violations, however; the officer can choose to issue a warning.
<div class=subtitle> Moving Vs. Non-Moving </div>
Non-moving violations can include things such as parking in the wrong spot, or even equipment not working.
<div class=subtitle> Criminal Vs. Non-Criminal</div>
Violations that either cause damage to a person or property, or pose a serious threat, can be considered criminal violations, and have heavier punishments. Some of these violations include:
-Driving recklessly
-Drinking and driving
-Driving while under the influence of drugs
-Having no insurance when driving
-Not having a valid driver's license
<div class=headingone> Written Warnings </div>
A written warning from a police officer requires no further action, but it is always safe to address the cause of the warning immediately.
Warnings don't appear on your records, but they may be noted by the law enforcement agency that issued them. Records like these can affect how future violations are handled within the jurisdiction.

Mirrors are to be used to detect objects and are not for determining the position of other vehicles. Before you start driving, you must adjust your rear view and side mirrors. Using the inside mirror, you can see what is directly behind you. Using your side mirrors, you can see each of the vehicle's rear corners.
<div class=subtitle>Inside mirror/Rear view mirror</div>
Adjust the inside mirror so you can see the entire rear window from the driver's seat. You should only have to move your eyes, not your head, when using the inside mirror.
<div class=subtitle>Side-view mirrors</div>
To adjust the driver's side-view mirror, place your head against the left side window and set the mirror so you can just barely see the side of the car in the mirror's right side.
To adjust the passenger's side-view mirror, position your head so that it is just above the center console. Set the mirror so you can just barely see the side of the car in the left side of the mirror. If the vehicle is not equipped with moveaable mirror adjustment controls, you may need assistance when properly positioning the mirror.
<div class=subtitle>Missing/Damaged mirrors</div>
Any mirrors that obstruct your view should be replaced. Drivers should remember objects may appear closer than the view in the mirror, and mirrors do not display objects in blind spots. To properly check your blind spots, one should glance over the shoulder in the direction in which the vehi
